ss2Souri Sisavath is a native of Laos (speaking Lao, Thai and English). As part of her family tradition, the Ancient Art of Thai massage was passed to Souri from her grandmother (native of Thailand). In 2001 Souri completed her advance Thai Massage training at Banrai Traditional Thai Massage School in Chiangmal, Thailand, and in 2002 she received additional Thai Massage training under the supervision of Grand Master Lek Chaiya. In 2006, she completed 180 hours of advance Teacher Training at International Thai  Massage (ITM) in Chiangmai, Thailand with Master Chongkol Settakhorn  (Northern Style) and in Wat Po, Bangkok (Southern Style).

All Thai classes are approved as a Continuing Education (CE) provider for State of
Texas Massage Therapy Program. In addition, all Thai classes are approved by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB) as a continuing education provider.

Note: Workshops are instructed by Souri Sisavath.  All classes size of 2 (minimum) to 6 (maximum). All classes can be taken alone, and is not a prerequisite for any classes. Wear comfortable stretch pants and T-Shirts for all classes. There is the special group rate for four students.

lotus4BASIC THAI MASSAGE TRAINING

10 days / 60 hours is divided into two parts (Basic Thai: Part One and Part Two).

lotus4BASIC THAI: PART ONE

The first half of the training (the first week) will cover the front position only (an introduction to the longest and most comprehensive position and form of Thai massage), the first step towards learning the full routine. The other half of the training (the second week) will cover the remaining side, back and sitting positions and the front position is reviewed in greater depth. In the last two days of training, students can give a comprehensive full-body 1 1/2 - 2 hour treatment.

lotus4BASIC THAI: PART TWO

Basic Thai Massage Part Two (Level Two) consists of 5 days of training, 30 hours total  including 6 hours of In-Clinic practice.  Part Two will cover the remaining side, back, and sitting positions, and the front position is reviewed in greater depth.  After completing Part 1 & Part 2, therapists can give a comprehensive full-body 1 ½ to 3 hour treatment. (Please note: Part 1 is a prerequisite).

lotus4INTRODUCTION TO THAI MASSAGE

In this one-day course, you will learn the basic elements of Thai Massage. The class includes a brief discussion of the history of Thai Massage, ancient Thai prayer, the 10 Sen (energy) lines, body mechanics, and a demonstration of two techniques. This class provides the students with a tantalizing taste of all four positions; front, back, side and sitting. Wear comfortable stretch pants and T-shirt for the afternoon hands-on practical.

lotus4THAI REFLEXTHERAPY FOOT MASSAGE

Thai tradition has a long history that stresses the vital importance of foot points in treatments for nearly every physical disorder. The General reflexology foot routine constitutes a whole body treatment.  The reclining Buddha at Wat Pho, Bangkok is an excellent example; ‘the soles are like the mirror of health’. 51 techniques are taught in this 1 hour session (30 minutes for each foot) covered on both days.

This one-weekend workshop will provide students with techniques modified for use on a massage table. These techniques will form a solid foundation for practicing a one hour session. Thai Massage on table is a perfect combination of Swedish and Thai Massage.
